The house was marvelous, especially the lanai where we spent a big portion of our time…the little tide pool and turtle pool provided endless hours of joy for us and our children.”

The first time we were newly-weds, the second time we brought along our 10-month-old daughter and the third trip we returned with her little brother so they too could fall in love with the exquisite ocean front accommodations of the Robertson Plantation House; the “turtle lagoon” and the “quiet lagoon”, both located on either side of “hammock point”. We frequented all three areas daily – no car seats, no tantrums, just a stroll across the lawn…”

“Plantation house was just what the Dr. ordered for our family. The rooms were set up graciously and well situated to allow all to have private space with ample gathering area on the Lanai or the spacious Living room. Beds were comfy. Fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of bathrooms and places to store everything. Back yard was spectacular with lots of grass for the children to play and opens to a wonderful small sandy beach with lava features and a tide pool with lots of sea life. Grounds had lots of room to park our vehicles, and were well maintained. Even had a couple of home grown bananas. Views from the upper Master bedroom were splendid. Place was nicely cleaned and ready to go when we arrived. If you are looking for a good sized beach house with Old Hawai‘i charm, Plantation House is a real winner.”

“What a terrific time we had… The house and how it is set up and maintained is outstanding. It really took a lot of effort just to get us off our duffs and go out and do something… everyone pretty much said they’d rather just hang around the house or out on the hammock.”

“So nice to be away from the crowded resorts in a peaceful spot with everything we could possibly need. The cove for a quick dip, the comfortable living space and the upstairs bedrooms that felt like sleeping out of doors. The kitchen and outside grill made meals a snap. The space surrounding the home provided a peaceful buffer from the bustle of island life yet the town of Kailua was only minutes away.”
“Great place, wonderful hosts. The house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, two children 7 and 2). House backs onto a small public beach (but typically with only 2-3 people on it). House is small, but very well designed. Not luxury, but perfectly well appointed. Well stocked with stuff for kids – beach, hammock etc. Excellent location"

“This house exceeded our expectations. It is simple but has all the necessary amenities – including fans and windows that open on all side. Having the public beach right out the back door was great, every morning we would check the tide pools for turtles and eels, and snorkel in the afternoon. The house is central to Kona attractions and beaches, as well as being a reasonable drive away from Volcano Nat’l Park and the Waikaloa area.”

“Staying at the Zen cottage was an idyllic Hawaiian experience. The caretaker greeted us upon arrival and was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The setting could not be more beautiful or relaxing. It is the perfect spot, whether you want to explore the big Island or just kick back and enjoy the water with the friendly resident sea turtles.”
"(We) have been to Kona a number of times, but our stay at the Seaside Zen Cottage made it our best trip. Once the gates closed behind us, we felt like we were in old traditional Hawaii. It was so relaxing and enjoyable, we did not want to leave the cottage and beautiful lanai facing the ocean. Cecilia greeted us and made us feel very welcome, and had a knack for being around only when we needed her, and Valerie was very easy to work with for making arrangements and booking the cottage. We feel fortunate the owners have made their property available for us to rent. With the risk of making it difficult to book for the future I would highly recommend the Seaside Zen Cottage to anyone who asks. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Kona."
